Chairman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces said the Bolivian Army is interested in cooperating with Iran’s weapons industry.

After a meeting with Admiral Yamil Octavio Borda Sosa on Saturday, Major General Mohammad Baqeri said “the Bolivian counterpart has expressed    interest in efforts regarding the provision of technology, weaponry, hospitals, and housing for military forces, as well as sharing training material and experience between the two armies,” reported ISNA.

He added that the Islamic Republic welcomes cooperation with Bolivia in these areas.

According to Baqeri, the Bolivian army delegation will visit the Defense Ministry, arms industry, and facilities of the armed forces.

Borda Sosa commended the Iranian nation’s hospitality, saying, “Iranian people have treated us in a friendly and warm manner, as if we’re one of their own. We come from a small country with a limited population; a nation colonized for long periods, though presently determined to revive its thousands-year-old identity.”

The Bolivian commander, who arrived in Tehran on Friday, is scheduled to meet the defense minister and police chief.
