Sri Lankan President to Visit

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena will arrive in Tehran on Sunday for a two-day state visit.

Sirisena, whose visit is taking place at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart, will confer with President Hassan Rouhani and other senior officials, Mehr News Agency reported.

According to Sri Lankan media, during his visit, the Sri Lankan leader  will focus on boosting economic and trade ties as well as encouraging Iranian investments in his country.

The official meeting between Sirisena and Rouhani will be held on Sunday and a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed on enhancing economic and trade relations.

Sirisena will also attend a special investment and a business forum organized by the Iranian Chamber of Commerce. He will make an observation tour of the Majlis in south Tehran.
