The deputy parliament speaker says the nation needs “unity” and “empathy” to be able to overcome problems.
Mohammad Reza Bahonar made the remarks on the sidelines of a meeting of principlists on Thursday, which was held to discuss ways to promote unity among principlist groups, ICANA reported.
Pointing to the Leader’s recent remarks, in which he criticized some government officials for raising controversial issues, Bahonar said it is “beneath the dignity” of government officials to try to “deflect attention” by their statements, adding, “We should join hands because we face important tasks.”
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Wednesday urged government officials to avoid causing “commotion” and making “unnecessary remarks” that cause “division” in the society.
Elsewhere, Bahonar, chairman of the Followers of the Line of Imam and Leader Front, said it is possible that the principlists and the Resistance Front will be able to reach an agreement to enter into an alliance.
