Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Thursday Iran will never withdraw its support for the Palestinian resistance groups.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Jamal Issa, member of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, who is on a visit to Iran at the head of a delegation, IRNA reported.

He emphasized Iran backs the Palestinian resistance in keeping with the principles of the Islamic Revolution and said, "Iran will never neglect (its duty) to support Palestine and the resistance groups."

Referring to the recent developments in Palestine, he said the issue of Palestine and al-Quds has always been a top foreign policy priority for Iran.

Issa, for his part, pointed to the "exemplary" relations between Hamas and Iran and praised the special and significant role of Iran in regional developments, particularly its role in backing the Palestinian resistance and cause.

The Hamas official stressed, "All Islamic and Arab countries should act decisively to provide strong support for al-Quds and stop the expansionist actions of the Zionist regime in Judaization of al-Quds."
