A senior Foreign Ministry official said Saturday that uprooting terrorism demands international collaboration coupled with serious political determination and regional agreements. Gholam-Hossein Dehqani made the remark during a conference on the campaign against terrorism in the Tajik capital Dushanbe, IRNA reported. The 70-year occupation of Palestine is an issue that needs to be placed on the agenda of international organizations, Dehqani said.  In a jab to US bullying and militancy, he said the “military adventurism” of certain countries, which has contributed to the insecurity in the world, has to end. Referring to the more than 17,000 Iranian victims of terror, he said the threat of terrorism and extremism and the subsequent suffering require collective efforts to uproot the two ominous phenomena.  Poverty alleviation, creating jobs, avoiding marginalization of parts of the society, cutting off terrorism funding, transparency and ending  double-standards in the face of terrorism and extremism as well as preventing the misuse of media and social networks to help the expansion of these two phenomena are of special significance, Dehqani told the conferees.
