In a decree issued on Sunday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei appointed Abdolhossein Moezzi as his representative to Iranian Red Crescent Society. The decree reads, "The Red Crescent Society has been established to restore the feelings of self-esteem, hope and tranquility to those afflicted by natural disasters and to provide relief for those in agony, irrespective of geographical, religious, ethnical and racial classifications," IRNA reported.
Addressing Moezzi, the Leader said, "In view of the significance and great material and spiritual potential of the society and your capabilities and commitment, you are expected to promote such precious virtues through directing and overseeing the society's affairs."
"You are also requested to take prompt action to provide services to those who have suffered from natural disasters and fulfill other obligations in the society."
In conclusion, the Leader wished Moezzi and all his colleagues success in achieving the lofty objectives of the organization.
