    Zarif, Croatian Officials Discuss Ties

    Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held talks with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and a number of other senior officials in the capital Zagreb on Thursday, calling for further cooperation between the two countries in various fields. Plenkovic hailed Iran’s “positive” and “constructive” role in restoring stability to the Middle East, describing the Islamic Republic as an influential country, Press TV reported. The Croatian premier also said cooperation with Iran, especially in the economic and trade sectors, should be continued and expanded. Zarif expressed his readiness to help develop Tehran-Zagreb relations in all fields, including Halal tourism, energy, agriculture, food industry, advanced technology, and banking. In addition, the Iranian diplomat met with Croatian Foreign Minister Marija Pejcinovic Buric and Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandrokovic. Zarif traveled to Croatia on the third leg of his tour of the Balkans and Eastern Europe that had already taken him to Serbia and Bulgaria. He arrived in Bosnia on the last stop of his trip on Thursday.
