    Zarif, Top Serbian Officials Discuss Ties

    Iran’s top diplomat met Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic in Belgrade on Tuesday, where the two sides conferred on a range of bilateral issues. Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, currently on a four-nation tour of Eastern Europe, discussed ways to develop economic, cultural, and scientific ties during his meeting with the Serbian premier, Fars News Agency reported. The two also talked about expansion of military cooperation and exchanged views on regional and international issues. On Monday, Zarif met his Serbian counterpart, Ivica Dacic, as well as President Aleksandar Vucic. In the meeting with Dacic, Zarif said the two sides could increase cooperation in such areas as gas and oil projects. The Serbian foreign minister said Belgrade seeks to improve trade relations with Tehran, expressing his country’s readiness to invest in Iran’s economy.  Zarif embarked on a tour of Balkan and Eastern European states on Monday, starting with Serbia. Bulgaria, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina are the next destinations of Zarif and his accompanying delegation.
