French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Tuesday he would travel to Russia and Iran in the coming days to discuss the war in Syria, Reuters reported.   "We're heading toward a humanitarian cataclysm" in Syria if nothing is done, Le Drian told French lawmakers. It was reported earlier that the minister would visit Tehran on March 5 to discuss a range of issues, including its ballistic missile program and the nuclear deal agreed with world powers in 2015.  Le Drian had planned to visit Iran in January, but his trip was postponed after a wave of protests broke out across the country over economic grievances, which soon took on a political dimension.  Tensions between Tehran and Paris have increased in recent months. The French government has repeatedly criticized Iran's regional policies and has also called on the country to clarify its ballistic missile program.  Tehran says its missile program is purely defensive and non-negotiable and has urged European countries not to be influenced by US President Donald Trump's confrontational policy toward Tehran. France reaffirmed its commitment to the Iran nuclear deal on Monday, saying it wanted the accord to be strictly implemented.
