    Zarif to Address Munich Security Conference

    Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is scheduled to deliver a speech at the 2018 Munich Security Conference on Sunday. Announcing the news, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Bahram Qasemi said Zarif would outline the Islamic Republic's views on issues related to regional and global security. The top diplomat, who was to arrive in the German city on Saturday evening, plans to hold talks with some of the attending foreign dignitaries on the sidelines of the annual conference, ISNA quoted Qasemi as saying. Over the past five decades the Munich Security Conference has become a key annual gathering for the international community as a leading platform for dialogue on foreign and security policy. Since its foundation in 1963, the MSC has been an independent forum dedicated to promoting peaceful conflict resolution and international cooperation and dialogue in dealing with today's and future security challenges. It has especially focused on the transatlantic partnership, according to the MSC's website.
