Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the spokesman for Yemen's Houthi Ansarullah movement held talks on the latest developments in the Arabian peninsula country and the ongoing human tragedy caused by the Saudi-led war. In the meeting in Tehran on Saturday, Zarif pointed to Iran's peace plan for Yemen and stressed the need for an immediate stop to the war and bombing of the country by the Saudi-led coalition, Tasnim News Agency reported. He said given the human catastrophe in Yemen that was caused by the relentless airstrikes of the coalition against the people of the country, there is a necessity for the international community to send humanitarian assistance to Yemen immediately. Mohammed Abdulsalam briefed the top Iranian diplomat about the current situation and the ongoing human tragedy in Yemen.   Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against Houthis in an attempt to restore power to the ousted president Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. Over 14,000 Yemenis have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
