The chairman of the parliament’s principlist faction said on Thursday that the top priority of principlist groups should be to retain their control over the Majlis in the next parliamentary election in 2016, IRNA reported. Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel pointed to the “negative repercussions” of disunity among the principlists and underlined the importance of the composition of the next parliament, saying, “It is important that the next Majlis will be principlist.” He said whenever the principlists worked together they were able to win elections and whenever they had infighting they suffered electoral defeat. In addition, the former Majlis speaker said it is necessary that the principlists “learn a lesson from their previous bitter experiences.”
