Iran says is ready to expand its ties in various fields with Ghana, particularly the Northern Region.
Iran's ambassador to Ghana recently visited the Northern Region where he expressed Tehran's support for health, education, and agriculture development in the region, according to a press release carried by Modern Ghana media portal on Wednesday.
During his trip, the diplomat discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations in his meetings with Ghanaian officials, including Minister of Northern Region Salifu Saeed.
Nosratollah Maleki highlighted the importance of youth empowerment through the development of business and trade, saying that the Islamic Republic will cooperate with Ghana to help create jobs through supporting agriculture projects.
He also said Iran is committed to offering scholarships to needy but brilliant students in the region.
In addition, Maleki urged the people of the region to promote peaceful coexistence among themselves and hailed Ghana's role in strengthening international peace.
He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Accra's Ambassador in Tehran Alhaji Sayuti Yahaya Iddi to increase bilateral relations.
According to the press release, the appointment of Ghana's ambassador in Tehran bodes well for the expansion of ties between the Northern Region and Iran since he hails from this region.
The report also said a delegation, including officials from the Northern Region, will soon visit Iran with the aim of boosting bilateral trade and exports to the Northern Region.
