United Muslim Front Against Israel

A top Indonesian parliamentary official called on all Muslim states to throw their weight behind Palestinians by severing ties with the Israeli regime.

“We propose that Muslim countries break off political and economic relations with Israel in support of the Palestinian people,” Acting Speaker of the Indonesian People’s Representative Council Fadli Zon said in a meeting with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on the sidelines of the 13th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) in Tehran on Saturday, IRNA reported.

The gathering is taking place against the backdrop of escalated tensions in the occupied lands in the wake of US President Donald Trump’s decision to reverse decades of US policy on Dec. 6 by recognizing Beit-ul-Moqaddas as Israel’s capital.

Palestinians in Gaza have launched 18 cross-border rockets or mortar bombs ever since, causing no fatalities or serious injuries in Israel, and 15 protestors and two gunmen have been killed by Israeli fire, Reuters said.

Larijani said the PUIC meeting should be used as a platform to promote a consolidated Muslim position against common enemies.
