Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader in Gaza Strip, said a senior Iranian military commander has pledged the mobilization of all the Islamic Republic’s military resources to help the Gaza-based resistance group fight Israel over Beit-ul-Moqaddas. “All our capabilities and potentials are at your disposal in the battle for the defense of Quds,” Sinwar quoted Qasem Soleimani, the commander of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ Quds Force, as telling him recently over the phone, the Times of Israel reported. According to Sinwar, Soleimani asserted that “Iran, the IRGC and Quds Force stand with all they have with our people to defend Quds so that [the holy city] will remain as the capital of the state of Palestine.” US President Donald Trump announced on Dec. 6 that the US recognized Quds as the capital of Israel and plansd to move its embassy there from Tel Aviv, which delighted Israel’s leadership but ignited protests across the Muslim world. Hamas has fought three wars with Israel since seizing power from Fatah in the Gaza Strip in 2007. The resistance group has called for a new intifada, or uprising, since Trump’s declaration.
