Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said Iran’s nuclear capacities have not diminished since the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran’s nuclear program came into force in January 2016.

Since the JCPOA implementation, “our nuclear capability has not declined, but rather we can continue on this path [of progress in peaceful nuclear technology] powerfully,” Boroujerdi told reporters on the sidelines of a visit to the Isfahan Uranium Conversion Facility in central Iran on Monday, Tasnim News Agency reported. “We move on, based on the nuclear accord and supply the needs [in the field],” he added. Tehran and six major powers reached the landmark deal in July 2015.

Taking into account the growing applications of nuclear energy and its role in the socioeconomic development of societies, Iran has always underscored its determination to vigorously continue to exercise its inalienable right to research, produce and use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
