Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi underlined that his ministry attaches great significance to efforts to boost investment security in the Islamic Republic. "Economic prosperity hinges on sustainable security and if security and health exist in the society, we will witness the promotion of economic growth," Alavi said on Saturday, Tasnim News Agency reported. The minister stressed the need to combat economic corruption, adding that the Iranian society should enjoy economic security so that it can attract foreign investments. Alavi said one of the main duties of the Intelligence Ministry is to provide security for investment and boost the country's administrative security. The remarks came as some foreign countries, including Austria, have praised investment security in Iran. In a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tehran in August, Vice President of Austria's National Council Karlheinz Kopf praised Iran as a safe place for investment. He highlighted the stable conditions in Iran, saying foreign investors can be assured of security in the Islamic Republic.
