Call for Long-Term Anti-Terror Coop. With Turkey

President Hassan Rouhani called for long-term cooperation with neighboring Turkey in the fight against terrorism, stressing the need for constant coordination to ensure peace and security in Syria. “The regional countries, particularly Turkey and Iran, should develop long-term cooperation in the region in the fight against terrorism,” the president said in a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Istanbul on Wednesday, Tasnim News Agency reported. Rouhani noted that Tehran and Ankara share views about contribution to regional stability and war on terrorism, adding that the two neighbors should keep working together to strengthen security and stability of Syria. Erdogan stressed the need for closer ties with Iran in diverse fields, saying the regional states should join hands to defeat terrorism.
