IRGC Chief: Victory in Yemen Imminent

The Islamic resistance front will celebrate a victory in Yemen in the near future, Commander of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Mohammad Ali Jafari said on Thursday. Major General Jafari pointed to the Islamic Revolution’s internal and external areas of activity, saying the revolution’s external aspect has materialized in the Islamic resistance front. “The Islamic resistance is gaining more victories in a surprising way and expanding its influence in the region,” the general was quoted as saying by Tasnim News Agency. “Over the past 20 years, we have been witnessing successive victories for the axis of resistance and defeat of the enemies of the Islamic Revolution in all Middle East countries, and by God’s grace, we are going to see victory in Yemen soon.” Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies have been carrying out indiscriminate airstrikes against civilians in Yemen to restore power to ousted president, Abd-Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally ensconced in Riyadh. In November, the IRGC chief said Iranian military advisors are providing assistance to the Houthi Ansarullah movement at the request of Yemen. “Today, Yemen is ruled by Ansarullah and Iran’s assistance is confined to advisory missions and spiritual support,” he said.
