Head of Jordan’s Lower House’s Palestine Committee Yahya Saud met Iran’s Ambassador to Jordan Mojtaba Ferdosipour in Amman on Tuesday.
During the meeting in the parliament, Saud called for unifying efforts of Muslim countries to address US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Beit-ul-Moqaddas as the capital of Israel and relocate the US Embassy to the holy city, the Jordan news agency, Petra, reported.
Saud stressed “deep-rooted” relations between Jordan and Iran, and appreciated Iran’s role and support for Jordan’s stance in refusing Trump’s decision and its understanding of Jordan’s efforts led by King Abdullah to support the Palestinian cause.
The ambassador praised the Jordanian role in protecting the Muslim and Christian holy places in Quds through the Hashemite custodianship, noting that Iran supports Jordan’s stance against the US decision that shows sheer bias toward the occupying regime of Israel. Ferdosipour stressed Tehran’s keenness on enhancing relations with Jordan and exchange of visits.
