Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari highlighted the growing presence of popular mobilization forces in the Middle East and said "cores of resistance" have spread in regional countries.

"Today, the global mobilization force of the Islamic front has been established," Jafari said, addressing a gathering of Basij volunteer forces in Tehran on Sunday, Tasnim News Agency reported.

"Cores of resistance have formed in many countries in the region and the world," he said, adding that the countries will see its valuable results in the future.

The commander also said the achievements of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement have benefited from the experiences of Basij forces.

Jafari pointed to Iran's advisory missions in Iraq and Syria, noting that the recent victories of resistance forces over foreign-backed terrorists have resulted from the presence of Iranian advisors and commanders as well as the countries' popular forces.

In recent years, Iraq and Syria have been plagued with militant outfits such as the self-styled Islamic State terrorist group, which are believed to have been created and supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.

The terrorist groups, which claim to be Islamic but whose actions are absolutely un-Islamic, have been committing heinous crimes not only against non-Muslims but mostly against Muslims in the region.

The self-proclaimed caliphate of IS collapsed in Syria and Iraq after the Arab countries' forces and their allies recently recaptured Rawa and Abu Kamal, the terror group's last strongholds in Iraq and Syria respectively.
