Vow to Unite Against Hegemonic Plots

The Leader of Islamic Revolution said Tehran is determined to stand against the plots of world arrogant powers to incite wars among Muslims, urging Muslim nations to join hands and be vigilant to nip future conspiracies in the bud.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made the statement in a Thursday meeting with Muslim scholars and intellectuals visiting Tehran for an international conference on countering takfiri and extremist ideologies in the Muslim world.

The conference, titled "The Admirers of the [Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH)] Household and the Issue of Takfiris", was held in Tehran on Wednesday and Thursday.

"We openly declare that the Islamic Republic of Iran will help out wherever there is need for participation to counter hegemony and heresy, and we have no reservation toward anyone in expressing this," he said, according to a transcript of his remarks posted on the Leader's official website.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the world arrogant powers have been making relentless efforts since the Islamic Revolution of 1979 to stop Iran through various plots, including international sanctions, but Tehran has managed to handle the pressure and will continue to fight the hegemonic powers with full strength.

"Iran is standing and will continue to stand against the plot of the hegemonic and Zionist front to create war and conflict among Muslims and, with the blessing of God Almighty, will emerge victorious in this battle just as the malignant tree of Daesh was cut down in Iraq and Syria," the Leader said, using an Arabic acronym for the self-styled Islamic State terrorist group.

The terror group was flushed out from its last urban strongholds in Iraq and Syria last week, prompting Iranian officials to declare the end of the self-proclaimed "caliphate" established in 2014, after the Syria-based terror group captured large swathes of Iraq in a lightning offensive.

The Leader said the terror group was not the last plot hatched by the adversaries of Islam, and Muslims ought to be wary of new designs.

"Although Daesh reached its end in Iraq and Syria, we should not neglect the deceit and duplicity of enemies, because the US and Zionism and their stooges will not give up enmity toward Islam and they might hatch and execute a plot like Daesh in another region," he said.

Ayatollah Khamenei warned that Muslims could ill afford to ignore their adversaries, saying urgent efforts were needed to promote unity among Muslims and awaken them to the dangers.

  Important Duty

The Leader said the love for the Household of the Prophet (PBUH) provides a suitable ground for forging rapport among Muslims, and admirers of the Household could play a significant role in promoting Muslim unity.

"The most important duty of the admirers of the Household in various countries is raising Muslims' awareness about realities of the world of Islam and creating the spirit of vigilance and awareness in the face of plots to sow discord in the Muslim community," he said.  

"The world of Islam can stand up to hegemony and heresy today and the Islamic system in Iran ... will be the means for victory over the enemies of Islam."

Ayatollah Khamenei described the issue of Palestine as the top challenge facing the Muslim world, saying the settlement of the problem is necessary to guarantee regional security.

"The key to overcoming the enemies of Islam is the issue of Palestine, because the heretic, hegemonic and Zionist front has, through the expropriation of the Islamic state of Palestine, become a base to disrupt the security of regional countries, and the cancerous tumor of Israel must be confronted," he said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said by sowing discord and conflict among Muslims, the enemies aim to give breathing space to the Zionist regime.

"We hope that a day will come when the Palestinian people will become the owners of their own land and that day will be the day of celebration and festivity in the world of Islam. The day that Palestine is returned to Palestinians, hegemony will suffer a real blow and we will strive for that day," he concluded.
