Official Meets Prisoners in Azerbaijan

The foreign ministry’s director general for expatriates’ affairs met with a number of Iranian nationals who are imprisoned in Azerbaijan to learn about their conditions, ISNA reported on Saturday.  In the meeting, Kazem Sajjadi pointed to the growing bilateral relations and said, “A new window has opened in the relations between the two countries following the visits of the presidents to Tehran and Baku and we hope that we can use the opportunity to take measures to resolve the problems facing the prisoners.” He also expressed gratitude to Azeri officials for their cooperation in the process of securing the recent release of some Iranian nationals.
