    IAEA Reaffirms Iran's Cooperation

International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Yukiya Amano said on Friday that Iran has fulfilled its obligations under the 2015 nuclear accord. In an update to the UN General Assembly on IAEA's verification and monitoring of Iran, he said, "The nuclear-related commitments undertaken by Iran under the JCPOA are being implemented." Amano reassured that "Iran is now subject to the world's most robust nuclear verification regime," according to a transcript of his remarks posted on the UN nuclear agency's official website. JCPOA stands for the official name of the deal, Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. The statements by the top official come as US President Donald Trump has refused to recertify Iran's compliance with the nuclear agreement, despite the UN nuclear watchdog's repeated confirmations of Iran's full adherence.
