Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has expressed gratitude to Iran for supporting the Arab country in its campaign against terrorism. He said Iran has sincerely used all its potential to assist Iraq during the current crisis facing the country. “The Islamic Republic of Iran has stood by the Iraqi nation in all periods and during hard times, so we thank the Iranians and will never forget their support,” IRNA quoted the Iraqi official as saying on late Wednesday. In addition, he said the two nations should stand together with regard to political and economic issues because the two countries have shared interests. Elsewhere, he expressed hope that some regional countries would shift their policies which have helped boost terrorist groups in the region.
