A Russian political expert has highlighted the importance of Iran’s “political efforts” in addressing the challenges facing the Middle East, saying Tehran plays a key role in helping promote stability and security in the region. In an interview with IRNA on Tuesday, Sergey Mikheev, vice president of Russia’s Center for Political Technologies, said, “Iran has concentrated its efforts to help restore peace in volatile countries in the region.” Elsewhere, he said Russia has adopted a similar approach and is trying to help regional countries resolve their problems, adding that the shared stances of Tehran and Moscow on Middle East issues have paved the way for increasing bilateral cooperation in this regard.
