A senior advisor to the chairman of the Guardian Council says the Expediency Council, which is drafting the general policies on elections, may change the election law so that the elections for parliament, the Assembly of Experts and city councils will be held in one round. In an interview with Fars news agency published on Wednesday, Abbasali Kadkhodaei said the requirement for candidates to gain half plus one of the votes may be eliminated and a simple majority would be enough to be elected.
