Zarif in Oman

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is to arrive in Muscat today for talks with top officials from the Persian Gulf littoral state to follow up on earlier discussions he had with his Omani counterpart Yusuf bin Alawi.

Ways of developing bilateral cooperation, agreements to import Iranian gas to Oman, Persian Gulf issues and latest developments in the region’s conflict zones, particularly Syria, Iraq and Bahrain, are among the topics expected to be on the agenda of Zarif’s talks with Omani officials, ISNA reported.

Zarif and the top Omani diplomat had already attended a trilateral meeting with Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York.

The UNGA kicked off on September 12 and will continue through December or January.
