The armed forces will carry out a major military exercise from December 25 to 31 in an area covering about 2.2 million square kilometers from the northern Indian Ocean to the east of the Strait of Hormuz and in large parts of the southern province of Hormozgan and the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, Fars news agency quoted Lieutenant General Abdolrahim Mousavi as saying in a press conference on Thursday. The deputy commander of the Armed forces also said various units of the navy, army, air force and air defense base along with some units of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) will take part in the war game. He added that domestically developed missiles will be tested and the armed forces will practice anti-terror measures during the maneuvers.
