Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has said it is not possible to stop advancements in information technology.
“Today, the people have access to the Internet and other means of communications, and the people are informed of all the news,” the chairman of the Expediency Council said in a meeting with reformists in Mashhad on Sunday.
“Even school children have become politically-minded… such a society cannot be deceived,” he said.
Elsewhere, he said the situation of freedom of expression in the country has become better, but increased efforts are required to further improve the situation.
