Advanced Marine Gearbox Unveiled

The Defense Ministry’s Marine Industries Organization unveiled a state-of-the-art and indigenous two-speed gearbox used in vessels.

The gearbox was unveiled during a ceremony on Thursday attended by Managing Director of Marine Industries Organization Rear Admiral Amir Rastegari, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rastegari said propulsion systems are a major part of vessels and manufacturing them can help develop marine industries.

He emphasized that the design and manufacture of the gearbox have been carried out in the Marine Industries Organization, adding that all of its components were made in the country.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headway in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment.
