Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari is in the Lebanese capital to hold talks with senior officials of the Arab country on a range of issues, including ties between Tehran and Beirut.
Heading a high-ranking political delegation, Ansari arrived in Beirut on Monday at the official invitation of the Lebanese government, Tasnim News Agency reported.
He planned to hold meetings with senior Lebanese officials and political and religious leaders on various issues, including ways of boosting bilateral relations and latest developments in the Middle East. Three weeks ago, Iranian Parliament speaker’s special advisor on international affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, visited Lebanon to boost Tehran-Beirut ties.
In a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Beirut on July 31, Amir-Abdollahian stressed that Iran will continue to extend effective support for the anti-Israel axis of resistance in Lebanon.
