A senior member of the Expediency Council has highlighted the role of political parties, saying the country cannot be run without a “partisan system”. In a country where democracy exists, parties should also exist, and it is not possible to run the country without a partisan system,” former parliament speaker Ali Akbar Nateq-Nouri said on Monday, ISNA reported. He also lamented the fact that the people “ride the waves” when decisions should be made regarding the country’s affairs and that political groups do not know “the rules of the game” when they come to power and make drastic changes in the composition of ministries and government organizations even at the levels of middle-ranking officials and low-level employees.
