Former first vice president Mohammad Reza Aref says the current government came to power as a result of the reformists’ wise approach, pledging that the reformists will continue supporting President Hassan Rouhani. “The reformists are helping the government without seeking any share (of power), and will take part in the parliamentary election (in 2016) to help the government meet the people’s rightful demands through gaining the seats of the Majlis,” IRNA quoted Aref as saying on Sunday. In the 2013 presidential election, Aref withdrew his candidacy to make way for Rouhani’s election. The reformists also supported Rouhani’s election campaign.
