Tehran-Moscow Regional Stances Similar

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, an adviser to the parliament speaker for international affairs, underlined the common stances of Iran and Russia on regional issues and said this is an opportunity for the resolution of crises in the region.
He made the statement in a meeting with Russian State Duma Deputy Gennady Sklyar, who heads the Russia-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group, in Tehran on Monday, Tasnim News Agency reported.
Amir-Abdollahian pointed to constructive talks between Tehran and Moscow on regional issues and said Russia should reinforce its role in regional developments.
The official highlighted “effective” mutual cooperation in case of the Syria crisis and said Tehran and Moscow should use the opportunity to help ease regional disputes.
Ties between Iran and Russia are growing due to “strong commitment” by two countries’ leaders for boosting bilateral ties, he said, noting that Iran’s Parliament is ready to help boost bilateral relations.
The Russian lawmaker said Moscow is prepared to enhance cooperation with Iran. Russia welcomes promotion of cooperation with Iran in “energy, finance and public sectors”, Sklyar said.
