A terrorist team fired projectiles from inside Pakistan at a border area southeast of Iran on Saturday, killing two local workers in Saravan in the province of Sistan-Baluchestan, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps announced.

In a statement on Saturday night, the IRGC Ground Force’s Qods Base said a “terrorist team affiliated with the world arrogant powers and foreign espionage services shot bullets and used light weapons from the soil of Pakistan at the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Saravan region” on Saturday evening, Tasnim News Agency reported.

The terrorist attack killed two local workers in the region, according to the statement.

IRGC ground troops responded, killing one of the terrorists and wounding two others, the statement said, adding that the other terrorists fled back into Pakistan.

Pakistani-based terrorist groups launch attacks on Iran’s southeastern areas every so often, killing border guards and civilians.

In late April, the so-called Jaish ul-Adl terrorist group launched an attack from inside Pakistan that killed 10 Iranian border guards in Mirjaveh in the same province.
