Islamic Revolution Guards Corps disbanded a terrorist outfit in the western province of Kordestan.

Forces with the Hamzeh Seyyed al-Shohadah Base of the IRGC Ground Force engaged the terrorists on Friday, Press TV reported.

Three terrorists were killed in the operation and one was arrested. Weapons and ammunition were also seized.

IRGC said the group “intended to conduct terrorist activities and create instability” in Iran.

On June 7, terrorists attacked Iran’s parliament and the mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, killing 18 people. The self-styled Islamic State terror group claimed responsibility.

According to the IRGC, the perpetrators had infiltrated the country via Kordestan and Kermanshah, another western province.

Since the twin assaults, security forces have stepped up their operations to curb terror activities across the country, particularly in the border regions, arresting and killing dozens of militants and seizing large amounts of weapons and explosives.
