The inauguration ceremony for newly reelected President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled for August 6, lawmaker Ahmad Amirabadi told reporters on the sidelines of a parliamentary session on Tuesday.

He will have two weeks from inauguration day to propose his 18 ministers, the legislator said.

The Majlis will examine the credentials of candidates in one week, and then they should appear before parliament to convince the chamber that they are competent for the job and win confirmation votes.

The parliamentarian said the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei is likely to give his endorsement letter to Rouhani on August 1 or 2.

Over 23.5 million people handed Rouhani a landslide during the May 19 national vote.

The principlist cleric Ebrahim Raeisi came in second with 15.7 million votes.
