The Foreign Ministry condemned a deadly suicide bomb attack in a concert hall in Manchester, calling for joint action against violence and terrorism originating from extremist ideologies. Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Tuesday expressed condolences to the families of victims of the terrorist attack that killed at least 22 and injured 59 others at Manchester Arena late Monday. He said Iran believes the attack in Manchester and a terrorist attack that killed 10 Iranian border guards at the common border with Pakistan in late April have roots in the same ideologies that promote violence and inhumane acts, Tasnim News Agency reported. All countries that have been victims of radical ideologies of terrorist groups should join hands for “serious, targeted and sincere” action against terrorism, he underlined. The spokesman noted that “fake coalitions” against terrorism or attempts to mislead the public over the origins of extremism have led to the “cancerous spread of” terrorists around the world.
