Security Chief Visiting Moscow

Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani was to arrive in Moscow today to attend an international security conference and hold talks with senior officials. Shamkhani was to address the conference on Iran’s strategy and experience in the fight against regional terrorism, IRNA reported. Iran and Moscow are closely cooperating in Syria where Moscow has lent its airpower to the Syrian army in the fight against militants struggling to bring down the beleaguered government. Tehran provides advisory services to the Syrian troops in their anti-terror drive. The two sides hold regular consultations on developments in the region, Syria in particular. They also coordinate efforts in helping restore security to West Asia and the Arab country. On March 29 during a visit by President Hassan Rouhani to the northern neighbor, the two sides signed 14 documents to promote  relations in a range of fields from communications to tourism.
