GC Ready to Host Candidates' Reps on Election Day

The spokesman of Guardians Council said the election watchdog is prepared to host representatives of the six presidential candidates on the day of voting slated for May 19.
Speaking to Tasnim News Agency, Abbasali Kadkhodaei added that arrangements have been made for the presence of the candidates' representatives to monitor the voting process and report any possible electoral violations.
Kadkhodaei noted that like in the two previous presidential elections, representatives of the candidates are allowed to attend the Guardians Council meeting on election day.
In the previous presidential election in June 2013, Hassan Rouhani garnered 50.7% of a total of over 36 million votes.
According to Ali Asghar Ahmadi, the head of the Interior Ministry's election office, a total of 56,410,234 Iranians can cast their ballots in the election this year.
