Berlin Vows to Help Implement Nuclear Pact

German State Secretary Markus Ederer reiterated Berlin's adherence to the 2015 nuclear pact between Iran and world powers. "Germany will remain committed to the pact and do its utmost for implementing it," he said on Saturday in a meeting in Tehran with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Tasnim News Agency reported. Ederer referred to his side's eagerness to develop economic ties with Tehran, saying Germany is ready for cooperation with the Islamic Republic in all areas, including finance and banking. Takht-Ravanchi referred to the long history of good ties between the two countries, saying Iran seeks to expand its relations with Germany. "Tehran expects Berlin to pursue the economic projects agreed between the two countries more seriously and wants banking problems to be removed promptly," he said. The banking problems hindering some of Iran's economic interactions with the world originate from the US failure to fully implement the nuclear agreement.
