Presidential candidate Ebrahim Raeisi selected Ali Nikzad, a former housing minister under Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as the head of his campaign office.
The hopeful is a leading challenger to incumbent Hassan Rouhani's reelection bid, ISNA reported Raeisi also appointed another Ahmadinejad administration official, former oil minister, Masoud Mirkazemi, as the head of his Planning Committee.
Rouhani's campaign office is headed by Mohammad Shariatmadari, his former vice president for executive affairs who resigned from the government early this month.
