Rouhani Attends Congress on Martyrs

President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday attended an international conference to commemorate martyrs in Mashhad.

Addressing the confab, the president said Iran has no weapon better than faith, unity and resolve of its people, stressing that a war between Iran and its enemies would be a war of wills, not a war of weapons, President.ir reported.

“What allows us to prevail over the US, the Israeli regime and their mercenaries and conspirators is not just weapons,” he said.

Rouhani said as history has shown, a war is not the scene of a battle involving warplanes, missiles and tanks, but it is a battle of wills.

“If the enemy’s calculations show that not only Iranians don’t fear martyrdom, but they embrace it as a source of pride and a path to immortality, then we will be undefeatable and no weapon can be effective against the power of Iranian’s faith and unity,” he said.

Leading a government delegation, Rouhani entered Mashhad, the capital of Khorasan Razavi Province, on Wednesday.

During the visit, Rouhani will inaugurate several civil and infrastructure projects.
