Iranian Ambassador to France Ali Ahani underlined that Tehran and Paris have ushered in a new phase of mutual cooperation.

"A new phase has opened in relations between Iran and France after the July 2015 nuclear deal," Ahani said, addressing the Iran-France Economic Forum in the French city of Issy-les-Moulineaux near Paris, Fars News Agency reported on Friday.

Ahani said his country is seeking sustainable development through cooperation with other countries. "Iran has prepared the political and economic grounds for facilitating the route to that end," he said.

The Iranian diplomat pointed to President Hassan Rouhani's visit to Paris last year and said the two sides signed more than 35 agreements to improve cooperation.

"After that, the first round of Iran-France Economic Commission was convened in Tehran in January," he said.

Ahani stressed the importance of removing banking obstacles to boost economic cooperation.
