Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif encouraged European economies, Germany in particular, to invest in Iran, assuring them of low investment risks compared to those in regional countries.
Iran totally relies on its people when it comes to security and economy, and does not ensure its “development and security” from outside the borders, entailing the “lowest degree of risk” in any kind of economic cooperation compared to other regional countries, Zarif said at an economic forum on the sidelines of the 53rd Munich Security Conference in Germany on Monday, Tasnim News Agency reported.
Referring to Iran’s high-level commitment in trade cooperation with private and state-run European companies in the past, the top Iranian diplomat said, “The Islamic Republic is a reliable trade partner for Europe, particularly Germany.” Zarif called on European states to adopt an independent stance toward Iran and not fall under the influence of policies that jeopardize European interests.
