Amsterdam Eager to Boost Ties with Iran

Dutch Foreign Minister Bert Koenders underlined his country’s commitment to the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.

In a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi in Amsterdam on Wednesday, Koenders said his country is eager to boost relations with Iran.

Referring to areas of cooperation between the two countries, he said terrorism and refugees are among fields that his country and Europe can have collaboration with Iran, Fars News Agency reported.

Takht-Ravanchi said Iran favors development of ties with the European Union and believes that cooperation with the bloc has the potential to help promote interaction at bilateral and regional levels.

He called for continued negotiations on regional developments, including Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq.
