Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani on Saturday thanked the Leader of the Islamic Revolution for assigning the council the task of drafting the general policies on elections, saying it is an important responsibility for the council, IRNA reported. The fact that the Leader has reached the conclusion that the process of conducting elections should be revised highlights the importance of the responsibility that has been delegated to the council, he said.
