Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and his Belarusian counterpart Mikhail Myasnikovich signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday to boost parliamentary relations. The two sides agreed to extend parliamentary cooperation to a wide range of domains from trade to tourism and technology sharing, IRNA reported. They also stressed the need to pursue the implementation of bilateral agreements through regular contacts between the two sides' special parliamentary committees. Tehran and Minsk also agreed to unify their positions on regional and global issues at international events, particularly in the Inter-Parliamentary Union that holds biannual meetings. Myasnikovich, who is the chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, arrived in Tehran on Monday and was expected to hold talks with other top Iranian officials, including President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
