An official with Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian Parliament, said members of the council's Defense and Security Committee are scheduled to pay an official visit to Iran in early March. Viktor Ozerov, the chairman of Defense and Security Committee at the Russian Federation Council, said representatives of the committee plan to travel to the Iranian capital Tehran on March 1, Sputnik reported on Saturday. Ozerov said various issues, including arms sales' contracts between the two countries and the ongoing crisis in Syria, will be discussed during the six-day trip. Iran and Russia hold regular and close consultations concerning the latest developments in the region, Syria in particular, toward coordinating their efforts in helping restore security to West Asia and the Arab country.
